Three Cape Ladies on Warwick’i veinimaja tribuut tõelistele "Cape Blend” veinidele. Vein on kompositsioon Lõuna-Aafrika "kohalikust” marjasordist Pinotage ja klassikalistest Prantsuse viinamarjasortidest Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) ja Syrah (30%). Igast viinamarjasordist on valmistatud vein eraldi, marjade matseratsioonil ja kääritamisel on kasutatud roostevaba terasest mahuteid, seejärel segatakse (assamblage) lõplik vein, mis laagerdub 18 kuud keskmise röstiga Prantsuse tammevaatides, millest 15% on uued tammevaadid, ülejäänud kasutatud 2-4 korda.

Iga viinamarjasort annab segule oma nüansse: Pinotage on magus ja pehme, koos lopsaka puuviljalisusega ja seedri nüansiga, Cabernet Sauvignon on segu ”selgroog”, pakkudes küpseid tanniine koos unikaalse pehmusega, Syrah annab delikaatset vürtsikust. Maitse on täidlane ja väga puuviljaline, kergelt magus elegantne lõppmaitse. Serveerida temeratuuril 16 - 18 kraadi ja sobib koos tomatite baasil valmistatud hautistega, roogadega kus on kasutatud päikese-kuivatatud tomateid, seene-risotto’ga.

2012: The 2012 Three Cape Ladies is a blend of 40% Pinotage, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Syrah that spends 18 months in French oak, 15% new. It has a ripe raspberry and mulberry-scented bouquet with touches of allspice and sous bois that unfold with time. The palate is medium-bodied with quite succulent, fleshy tannins that belie the structure underneath. There is a gentle but insistent grip on the finish with good length. This is one of Warwick Estate's more approachable current releases. The Wine Advocate 90 points

2013: A blend of 50% Pinotage, 34% Shiraz and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French oak for 18 months (22% new), the 2013 Three Cape Ladies sees more Pinotage than previous vintages because of the sheer quality (it comes from a high density block, around 4,629 vines per hectare, planted 15 years ago). The nose is very perfumed with hints of peppermint infusing the black plum and black cherry fruit, with white fennel revealed by continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is a pleasing sense of purity here and their decision to up the percentage of Pinotage was an astute one, lending this a rounded, very supple and harmonious finish that just slips down the throat. This is recommended. The Wine Advocate 91 p
