Opus One on Napas paiknev kultusveinimõis, mis loodi kahe veinimaailma ikooni Baron Philippe Rothschildi ning Robert Mondavi ühisprojektina 1979. aastal. Opus One on ka üks nendest mitte Bordeaux tippveinidest, mida nüüdseks suures osas ainult läbi Bordeaux veinibörsi (Place de Bordeaux) müüakse. Neid veine ei ole palju - Itaaliast: Masseto ja Solaia; Prantsusmaalt: Hommage a Jacques Perrin; Tšiilist: Sena, Almaviva ja Clos Apalta ning USA-st - Opus One.

Opus One on valmistatud 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 2% Malbec viinamarjadest.

Meenutab kohtati Pauillaci tippveine. Järelmaitse kestab minuteid.

2014

"Mesmerizing aromas of flowers, bark, currants and blackberries. So perfumed. You just want to smell it. Exquisite tension and finesse with an almost Burgundian texture, yet it’s Napa in its soul with ripe fruit, stones, spices and Chinese tea leaf flavors. Savory and delicious. Best from 2018 through 2030" James Suckling 97 points

"Opus One 2014 sports an inky purple color and nose of crushed black and red currants, black cherries and mulberries with touches of underbrush, sautéed herbs and pencil shavings plus a waft of spice box. Medium-bodied, finely crafted and with an energetic line lifting the red and black fruits, it has a bold frame of grainy tannins and a very long, earth and spice-layered finish." - Wine Advocate 96 points

2015

"Blended of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec and displaying a medium to deep garnet-purple color, the Opus One 2015 Proprietary Red Wine is a sexy, beautiful spice-bomb, with tons of cinnamon stick, cloves, fenugreek and pepper notes springing forth over a core of mulberries, plum preserves, blackberry pie and fragrant earth plus a waft of lavender. The palate is big, voluptuous and totally decadent, with velvety tannins and just enough freshness framing the rich, spicy black fruits, finishing with a lovely perfumed lift. This wine was tasted as a tank sample, but it is due to be bottled soon." - Wine Advocate 98 points

"Purity and brilliance on the nose with so much currant and flower character. Roses, currant bush and fresh leaves, too. Brightness is the word that comes to mind. Full-bodied and broad-shouldered. Juicy and so gorgeous now. Balance is so wonderful here. All about harmonious fruit and tannin balance. I like it slightly better than the excellent 2014. 81% cabernet sauvignon, 4% petit verdot, 7% cabernet franc, 6% merlot and 2% malbec. Drink or hold." - James Suckling 98 points
